Where we stayed for D & B’s wedding in Jackson, Wyoming. The hotel was gorgeous & new, with a fantastic (if slightly expensive) cafe chock full of gluten free options. HIGHLY recommend!!!

I had my first dinner of the evening here at M Street Kitchen in Santa Monica, with Taylor and his awesome friends Alex & Andrea. It’s actually owned by my friends Jerrod & RJ Melman … HIGHLY recommend!

Second dinner was at my favorite West Hollywood sushi haunt, Izaka-ya with my friend Jonathan Melber, his girlfriend Alexis and her friend Dan.

Last summer, while strolling through Henri Bendels, I discovered Tuccia di Capri sandals - fell deep into shoe-love - and my feet haven’t been the same since. ;)

They’re handmade - cobbled right there, in front of your eyes - and consequently, they fit (and feel) like, well, um … they were made for you? HA. They’re as comfortable as my Old Navy flipflops, but I don’t feel embarrassed to wear them to a meeting on a ninety degree summer day. They go with everything, so I only have to take one pair along with me on trips. I’ve had mine a year, but they look brand new.

You can customize your shoe with any heel height, color, size or material strap, along with a bit of bling, if you so choose. I wanted mine to be as neutral as possible, so I chose white straps on a flat shoe with a sparkle circle at the top. For some unknown reason, that sparkle makes me strangely, perhaps disproportionately, happy. (Hey, whatever does the trick. I don’t ask questions.)

They are, compared to the aforementioned Old Navy flipflops, pricey (about $175). But if you amortize the cost per use (like your favorite pair of jeans, or for me, anything Lulu Lemon, LOL), it’s pretty much the best way to spend money on a summer shoe.

Actually, I’m about to go order another pair (I’ve been meaning to try the wedges), and I could use a version with black straps.

Jack's belt - now mine!

Just to (slightly) counteract all of the girlishness going on here lately, I wanted to mention my new favorite men’s fashion & accessories site - Colonel Littleton. Although it greatly distresses me, not everyone lives and dies by Lilly Pulitzer and Vera Bradley ;) - and this place is perfect for gifts for boyfriends, groomsmen, dads - or anyone a bit more rugged.

Unsurprisingly, it was Jack who introduced me to the infectious charm of “The Colonel.” The belt above I swiped from him one day in desperation (I had forgotten my own), and I liked it so much, I have absolutely no intentions of giving it back. Jack is rather obsessed with the products, and owns a dozen or so items from the site.

Honestly, after watching the videos, I totally get it. I want the Colonel to be my grandfather, and will probably buy every “man gift” for the rest of my life from his site.
