The perfect, professional (yet still very pretty) headshot of Miss Nicole Lapin at CNBC.
We have some great discussion going on over at this post on my Michigan Avenue photo, which shows a bit more cleavage than some thought was appropriate, given my new job.
When I was doing my new headshots last summer, I purposely wanted something a little more professional.  Obviously, I’m 29 - almost 30 - and that means growing up a bit in terms of my look.  What stood at 24 or 26 or even 27 (when the Wired cover was shot) won’t stand now.  I realize that.  Which is why, when I selected the dress for my new shots, I wanted something that had a high neckline and sleeves (geez, again, why don’t more dresses have SLEEVES?!  Not all of us have Michelle Obama’s arms!)
This is what I decided on, but unfortunately, I didn’t take into account the fact that they would have to run in actual newsprint - and according to my editors, the herringbone pattern doesn’t translate well.  Oops?
So I have to retake them at some point in the next month or two, and I’m looking for great examples of pretty but professional headshots of women (like Nicole’s above).  Or suggestions of dresses to wear!  If you see anything, please email me!  Julia@NonSociety.com

I think this was my favorite from the Trio shoot - because you can’t really see my face.  ;)

So. Freaking. Fabulous.  An inspiration!
glamber:

Love this chick’s style, pink art on the wall behind her AND her effortless hair.

My camera didn’t get any good shots from last night’s National Magazine Awards, but Patrick McMullan’s photographer did.  Too bad I don’t have an account with him - the site doesn’t allow you to see anything bigger than a thumbnail unless you do. :(
Anyone out there have one I can borrow?

To be totally honest, the green heels don’t look nearly as good in this photo as I thought they did in my head when I decided to wear them. They were supposed to bring out the green on my nails and in the necklace … but I think should have gone with the flesh colored YSLs instead.  Oh well.  No fashion risks taken, no fashion rewards given.  ;)
