I’ve had the same bedding since I moved into this apartment in October of 2007, but I never really liked it (comfort wise), and I’ve been itching to change it up for a while.  At some point in 2008, I was at Pottery Barn for Kids over on the Upper East side, and I stumbled upon these insanely soft chamois pillow cases.  I bought two, thinking (more or less) that there had to be a catch - after all, why didn’t anyone else I know own these!??  Maybe they didn’t wash well, or they were too hot when you put your head against them or something.  Or, uhhh … they got thrown off by the whole “for kids” part in the name of the store.  Whatevs.
Turns out there is NOTHING wrong with this fabric except Extreme Awesomeness.  They’re just a straight up Bedding Miracle.  Determined to outfit my entire sleeping berth in chamois, I clicked onto the website to find that all of the rational, adult-like colors (read: white) in the chamois queen size duvet and fitted sheet were sold out.  BLERG!
No matter.  I was undaunted.  For months I stalked the site, hoping they would come back into stock.  Epic fail.  Desperate, I actually considered outfitting the bed entirely in bright green, but right before Christmas I trekked over to the actual physical location one more time - just in case.
AND SCORE!
I got the very last white queen sized chamois duvet, and figured it would be a fun surprise to have a pink chamois fitted sheet underneath (they also didn’t have any white).  I celebrated with four additional chamois pillowcases, in varying shades of pink. HURRAY!!!
So now I just need to get a new small decorative pillow or teddy bear, because the one Bath & Body Works sent over to me for Christmas doesn’t really match anymore …
