I had uggs in high school, and ugly or not, they saved my feet from a lot of cold and wetness. But in college I became a vegetarian and one of my New Year’s resolutions this year is to try to avoid buying leather shoes — which as I’m sure you realize is less than easy.
Basically, I’m looking for boots — something semi-cute, very warm, and preferably water & weather-proof. Not too too expensive and preferably from someplace that can ship to Europe (though worse comes to worse I could have them shipped to my parents and then they could send them to me.) I’d like to get in and out for like $150 (shipping and all) since for all the awesomeness of my job here in France, I am basically paid in croissants.Any help would be much appreciated!!All the best for a happy, healthy year.xo

Full disclosure: Snowjoggers graciously provided me with both the pink & purple pairs.  My feet have thanked them many a time.  As for the Moonboots, well, my American Express provided me with them.  ;)  Both are incredibly comfortable (Snowjoggers are a little more discreet, Moonboots a little cushier but not exactly … uh … subtle.)

Hi Julia,

I have a little question I thought you might be able to help me out with… This is my first year living in a cold climate since high school, and though I wasn’t expecting it to snow much here, it IS (I’m in France) and my everyday flat leather boots are not keeping my feet warm at all.

All the best for a happy, healthy year.
