So, Prom King’s best friend “J” and I have known each other for two years, and J set us up three weeks ago (yes, it took that long to actually find a free night in my schedule here in New York!). Although I’d glanced at his Facebook profile, I had never met him before - so technically, this date was blind.
When we first started chatting via text, I told him that I abhorred the mind-numbing usual bulls—t of Dinner & Drinks.  In fact, I believe I borderline begged him for something - ANYTHING! - different.
Thus: PROM NIGHT, which was - I might add - HIS idea.  He rented a stretch limo, bought a corsage and a boutonniere, wore a pink tie, popped a bottle of champagne, and took me on a Tasting Tour of some of New York’s best seafood: first Sushi Seki, then Pearl Oyster Bar, then Bond Street - and he had the best dishes picked out at each place. PLUS, he topped it all off with a box of cupcakes.  UnREAL.  (AND HE’S A LAWYER, not a Broadway producer or something. In other words, ya’ll have no excuse.)
It was, hands down, the most creative, enthusiastic, imaginative blind date I’ve ever been on.
Gentlemen, take note: If all dates were this inspired, no woman in New York would EVER groan at thought of yet another one.
