Meet Katie & Mike.
After their “numerous attempts to have a more traditional wedding ended in complete failure,” they decided “eff it!” and bought two round trip tickets - around the world. Now they’ll be visiting ten separate countries “with a tux and a dress and taking photos in front of every world wonder” (but doing the actual deed in Philly).
Their wedding website - complete with a love-in-many-languages intro page (set to a One Republic tune), comprehensive lowercase’d menu bar (“the blog” “the links” “the faq”) and interactive trip map, is better designed and programmed than most actual revenue-generating sites. Bottom line? You’d hate them if you didn’t sort of want to be them. Or marry them. Or be friends with them and get invited to their wedding. Or, at the very least, be a drunk date of one the friends invited to their wedding.
It’s really nice to see a couple doing something totally unique with their special day. After all, if two people can put up with each other during a 10 country trip like this - hell, marriage will look EASY. :)
PS. I definitely teared up a few times while poking around this site.
PPS. I also tried to RSVP.
PPPS. I’m kidding.
PPPPS. Sort of.
