Watching my incredibly talented friend, Julia Price, perform at SXSW Music here on 6th Street. If you want to see more of her music, follow her on twitter @JuliaPriceMusic - I will also be posting the videos I shot later this week!
Whoa. I’ve never stayed in Austin for SXSW music but it’s a very different scene. This guy is incredible, standing on the second floor ledge playing to 6th street below.
My mom was a producer at PBS in Chicago for years (actually, when I was in the womb!)
Please save it!
I’m sure everyone’s seen this by now but me but I can’t NOT pass it along…

On Saturday, February 19th, the House of Representatives voted 235-189 to pass a continuing resolution that eliminates funding for public broadcasting. I put together this handy chart on why PBS is worth saving. Find out how you can fight back at 170 Million Americans.
FULL DISCLOSURE: I am Creative Director for PBS KIDS but a life-long supporter/watcher of PBS ;
As much as we try not to be like our Mothers, I grew up watching PBS and seeing my Mom donate to PBS and now I do the same thing.
The quality of the programming on PBS is superior and beyond the scope of what the rest of American Television offers. No one craps out quality like PBS. You can quote me on that crap thing.
Sign me up for pledge week. I’ll go on TV and drive the money out of alllllll the sons o’ guns.
I read that the vast majority of the donations to our American PBS station were from Canadians.
So remember:
For every 1 US dollar in federal funding, PBS gets 6 dollars from Canadians!!
People might say I’m bragging by reposting this (from my former intern Emily Rose), but let me assure you: do not mistake “boasting” for “exhausted triumph.” I was PETRIFIED to give that talk, and while I don’t think I aced it, at least I got through it, and perhaps brought awareness to an important issue.
And with that, I’m out.

-Maggie KuhnIn the year and a half I’ve known Julia Allison, we’ve been through a lot, and I’ve never been as proud of her as I am today.
I love you, Pink Lady, and you’ve changed me for the better. Thanks for always being yourself.
Just do something,” Eve told us. “No matter how overwhelming the situation might seem, just do something. There’s power in that, because one action can lead to another action, and once you do something, someone else will do something, and then someone else will do something, and so on and so on. You don’t know what will happen, or what you could start.

I started jokingly singing “True Colors” to Jack on the phone tonight, and then I realized that, yeah, listening to it was just what I needed to do. (Also, I might want to invest in vocal lessons.) HELL YEAH IT’S CHEESY. Thank you, Glee! But who cares?!? After putting together a column and speech on cyberbullying, I just want to wrap myself in a giant fleece blanket of cheesy kindness.
On the lighter side … a bit of inspiration.
A beautiful Black Swan inspired shoot a lovely reader sent to me for inspiration
