I had this ridiculous, enormous three room suite all to myself at The Meritage during Tim Ferriss’ (LIFE CHANGING) conference here in Napa, so I invited Elly & Rachel to drive up from SF to spend the weekend, too! Although I couldn’t be with them during the day (the conference was 9 am to 5 pm, with a 6-10 pm dinner every night), last night we snuggled on the couch together watching Burlesque, and Rachel fell asleep on my shoulder while Elly & I giggled like seventh graders.
This entire weekend made me so happy.

At Tim Ferriss’s conference dinner in the castle in Napa, which blew my mind (the conference, the castle, and Napa!)

Feeling a lot of love right now.

Raffaele is the head of Oscar’s sample room. This is his tattoo, one of the many things that inspired the creation of live in love. (Taken with instagram)

My friend Brit is a genius.
brit:

Let me just put it out there: I’m a “grab-and-go” fan when it comes to breakfast. For the past few months, I’ve been microwaving egg beaters and usually adding salsa on top. If I was in a hurry to get out the door, I’d sometimes even put the eggs in a plastic cup, grab a plastic fork, and head out the door.
Yep, that’s been my breakfast, every day. But today, I realized that I could save even more time in my mornings (including less clean-up time) by making EGG MUFFINS. I really can’t believe I hadn’t made these before - they are so easy!
I simply poured egg beaters into a greased cupcake pan, then added whatever toppings I felt like - some have mushrooms, some have veggies, and I also made some with turkey. After I had baked them in the oven at 375-degrees for 30 minutes and let them cool, I just popped them into plastic bags so that I can grab them easily in the morning.
I’m not an expert chef by any means, but if you’re looking to save time in your day, here’s a fool-proof way to do it.

I’m writing this week’s Social Studies column on Chicago native and cancer survivor Jenna Benn, the author of Killitinthebutt.com.

During the most difficult part of her treatment, she encouraged everyone to submit these amazing Twist Out Cancer homemade videos - and they make me GRIN.  Now that’s how to use social media!!

I just (tried to) set up Taylor with someone who lives 3,000 miles away.

Taylor:
You are so amazingly relentless and not concerned with geography.
Me:
Geography is intensely arbitrary in this day and age.
Taylor:
Perhaps we will agree to disagree on that.

Anyone know anyone amazing in Paris? Anyone you might introduce
I ask because at the last minute I was invited to speak at a conference in LA during what was meant to be the first part of my Paris trip (24-26) and my amazing high school girl friend Rachel will now be there on her own.  I don’t want to leave her hanging, so I’m helping set up an amazing itinerary of fun things to do and interesting people to meet!
She is the best company - bright and engaging.  She has a master’s degree from the University of Chicago and an undergrad degree from Wesleyan (in case you doubt how fun she is).  She’s hysterical, super-friendly and LOVES food and new experiences. She just doesn’t enjoy traveling alone. :)
I would appreciate it SOOOO much if you could help me out here!  Please shoot over an email to Julia@NonSociety.com!Thank you thank you thank you!

With my sweet former intern/assistant Emily Rose, who is visiting from Boston this weekend!

I love this girl.

(btw, her adorable dress is from Forever 21 - and I want to walk over and pick one up right now! My frock is from Roni - the boutique in NYC)

I would change this sign to just “Be nice to people.”
I think people get so caught up in “working hard,” they lose sight of everything else in their lives.  Hard does not equal “long.”  Work SMART!  Add value to people’s lives.  That doesn’t mean that sometimes it won’t FEEL like “hard work,” but if you’re really on the right track, other times it won’t feel like work at all.
Instead you’ll be thinking, “They PAY me for this?!”
Or that’s what I’ve heard, at least. ;)
